About

I study social interaction across a variety of everyday and institutional settings, using conversation analysis and membership categorization analysis. These settings include neighbour mediation, telephone calls to mediation and related helplines, classroom education (in higher education), police interrogations, speed-dating, and friendship groups. Amongst other things, I am interested in how people manage 'identity' issues in talk, and how categorial descriptions of persons are organized within sequences of actions such as complaints.
