I am assessing the nature and extent of environmental change at 3 Danish coastal sites (Kilen, Norsminde, Korup Sø) over the Holocene and the extent to which these can be linked to the rich archaeological and historical records of maritime Denmark. This project focuses on diatom and sedimentary pigment analysis from sedimentary coastal sequences to provide both a qualitative and quantitative reconstruction of key environmental parameters (especially salinity and nutrients), but will also involve analysis of foraminifera for both ecological and isotopic information to corroborate the diatom records.
